Looking Back On Infrastructure Week 2023 And Looking Forward To What’s Next
Dear Colleagues,
This week marks one month since Infrastructure Week 2023. Thank you to everyone who participated and continued beating the drum for national infrastructure investment. Now that the dust has settled, we are happy to report that dozens of events were held virtually and in-person across the country. Dozens of news outlets, from the Los Angeles Times to Cleveland.com covered Infrastructure Week stories, and several federal agencies and departments chimed in with Infrastructure Week announcements as well. Thousands of different accounts engaged on social media, ensuring the #InfrastructureWeek and #InfrastructureWorks messages reached millions of people.
We are grateful to our Steering Committee, Partnership Network, and everyone who planned events, released videos, or just engaged online to help spread the word that #InfrastructureWorks. Infrastructure Week 2023 was a great success and our programming plans for the rest of the year are underway. If you have ideas for a project you would like us to feature or a future event you would like to produce in partnership with us, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Ross van Dongen at ross@acceleratoraction.org.

A Moonshot for Infrastructure?
Authorized by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the Advanced Research Projects Agency - Infrastructure (ARPA-I) is a new agency within the U.S. Department of Transportation tasked with funding high-risk, high-reward next-generation technologies that have the potential to revolutionize America’s transportation infrastructure systems.
The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy recognized the launch of ARPA-I yesterday with a Summit featuring Secretary Buttigieg, as well as mayors, federal legislators and Senior White House staff. You can watch the recorded event here and read more about this “Moonshot for Infrastructure” in The Verge’s interview with Secretary Buttigieg.
Thank you to our Steering Committee.
Thank you to our Partnership Network.
