Welcome To Infrastructure Week 2023

A year ago this week, Accelerator for America Action was honored to take the reins of United for Infrastructure (UFI). UFI and its partners had fought for a decade to pass the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act/Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (IIJA/BIL), but the work of infrastructure advocacy did not end with the signing of the bill. UFI continues the fight for infrastructure investment in America along with an amazing network of partners and supporters. Every member of the original UFI Steering Committee remains active and engaged in our work, and we are proud to have added two new Committee members - the National League of Cities and North America’s Building Trade Unions. We are also thrilled to welcome back all prior financial supporters who make up our Partnership Network; we literally couldn't do it without you - thank you!

As we kick off Infrastructure Week 2023, I want to offer my sincere gratitude to the many organizations, companies, and advocates that have organized virtual and in-person events in Washington and around the country focused on every sector of infrastructure. I hope everyone can take a moment this week to highlight an infrastructure investment in your community that is important to you and the quality of life in the place you call home.

As the nation continues down the road of IIJA/BIL implementation, UFI will continue telling the story of America's infrastructure - celebrating success and making the case for further investment, facilitating important dialogues on the unique slate of challenges and opportunities this moment in history presents, and continuing to prove that infrastructure works for America!

Thank you for joining us,

Mary Ellen Wiederwohl

Happening Tomorrow: “Infrastructure Works for America: Where We Are and the Road Ahead”

Thank you to United for Infrastructure Steering Committee Member, Business Roundtable, for opening your doors and hosting us tomorrow for our marquee event, “Infrastructure Works for America: Where We Are and the Road Ahead.” We expect more than 100 people to be in attendance to hear from this dynamic lineup of national, state, and city leaders, policy experts, and private sector visionaries. We are excited for enlightening conversations on how far we’ve come and, more importantly, where we still need to go.

With more than 30 events on the official calendar, there is something happening for everyone this week. Thank you to all the Infrastructure Week participants who stepped up to host a local or national event! Our United for Infrastructure staff will be stopping by several events in Washington, DC this week, including the Celebration of Construction on the National Mall, Financing the Fight Against Lead in Drinking Water at the Reservoir Center, and Addressing Implementation Challenges at the State and Local Level hosted by Brookings Metro.
