ACCELERATOR FOR AMERICA ACTION
It’s more than just how we move. It’s how we live.
Accelerator for America Action, is about shaping a better tomorrow through transit and infrastructure investment. As a 501(c)4 non-profit organization, we're uniquely positioned to help cities and regions build innovative projects that connect neighborhoods, create good-paying jobs, and foster a prosperous and thriving future.
Starting in 2022, United for Infrastructure began operating as a project of the Accelerator. As the organizers of Infrastructure Week and serving as the leading advocate for federal investment in infrastructure for a decade, United for Infrastructure has shifted its focus toward the successful implementation of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
$40 Billion in Funding
Since our founding, we have helped infrastructure funding efforts win in Phoenix, Austin, Cincinnati, San Antonio, Houston, Hillsborough County, FL and across the Washington, D.C. metro area.
Partnership Highlights
-
Austin, TX
In 2020, Accelerator for America Action supported the long-term planning and strategy that led to the passage of Prop A, generating over $7 billion for Project Connect. Since then, Project Connect is gaining national attention for its holistic approach to mobility solutions, governance, and focus on community and placemaking. AFAA has recently produced this Living Case Study that documents Austin’s implementation journey for the benefit of other local leaders who will follow in the city's footsteps.
-
Cincinnati, OH
With public opinion and policy research support from Accelerator for America Action, Cincinnati retooled an earlier transit funding measure into Issue 7 which was approved by voters in 2020. The 0.8% sales tax raises $3.25 billion over 25 years, driving the city's Reinventing Metro plan to enhance regional connectivity and economic development.
-
Phoenix, AZ
In 2019, Accelerator for America Action supported the defeat of the well-funded, anti-transit Proposition 105 in Phoenix. The Yes on 105 effort was funded by an out-of-state political operation that in the previous year helped defeat a transit measure in Nashville, TN.
Let’s Work Together
AFAA provides expert counsel, support, polling and policy research assistance, and makes connections among local and national leaders to increase the chances for success at the ballot box or via legislation for local, regional and statewide transit and infrastructure initiatives.
