Washington, DC
Join us during Water Week at 12pm on April 10, 2024, in Washington, D.C. at the Senate Visitor Center Room 215 (US Capitol Visitor Center) to learn about the local and national consequences of unaffordable water systems and explore ways policymakers can ensure no American is unable to afford life’s most essential resource.
With 17 percent of Americans served by the largest utilities struggling to pay their water bills, providing affordable access to water and wastewater services for all has never been more critical. And voters want action, with solid majorities supporting efforts to ensure water services are affordable for our most disadvantaged community members.
With opening remarks by Senator Alex Padilla and the Congressional Black Caucus, and a moderated discussion led by the Water Agency Leaders Alliance, this forum will feature local and federal leaders finding innovative ways to balance the need to fully fund water and wastewater systems, ensure access to essential services regardless of income, and prepare for increasing costs on the horizon.
