Free webinar - Essential Resources for Sustainable Off-System Steel Bridges
Provides 1.0 LU/PDH (HSW Hour)
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill (BIP) will direct about $40 billion over the next five years to repair, replace or rehabilitate our nation’s bridges, representing the single largest bridge investment since the construction of the interstate highway system. In addition to providing funds for highway bridges, the BIP has dedicated funds for off-system bridges, which are generally locally owned and short span (under 140 feet). The bill aims to support the adoption of a broad range of construction technologies and practices, all while creating a more sustainable infrastructure.
To responsibly fix our nation’s bridges with sustainable solutions, the future must start today. With new innovative materials, designs and protection systems available today, the American steel industry is well positioned to build resilient bridges that will last well into the next century – and possibly beyond. The Short Span Steel Bridge Alliance and the American Galvanizers Association have compiled a number of free, essential resources that make steel bridge design easier while providing the confidence to achieve long-term performance and a 100-year service life in many environments.
The expert presenters are Michael G. Barker, Ph.D., Professor, Civil & Architectural Engineering at the University of Wyoming and John Krzywicki, Marketing Director of the American Galvanizers Association.
Join us during Infrastructure Week to learn more about these resources and take home the tools required to tackle one of our nation's biggest challenges.
